A model where the training happens before the hire rather than after it. FlarePeople finds people with the aptitude for pricing, trains them for ten weeks in the Pathfinders™ Academy, deploys them into a UK insurance pricing team on an initial contract, typically 24 months, and supports them throughout. Who are Pathfinders?
People with the aptitude and attitude for insurance pricing who have come through the Pathfinders™ Academy: STEM and maths graduates, early-careers talent, ex-armed forces personnel, and career returners and changers. Selection is through an assessment centre day that tests numeracy, learning agility, communication and motivation, not insurance experience.
What does the Pathfinders Academy teach?
Ten weeks, taught by practising insurance pricing experts: insurance and product fundamentals, data and tools (SQL, Python, MI), pricing techniques (GLMs, segmentation, monitoring, GBM), common pricing tools including Radar, deployment and testing, governance and Consumer Duty, and communication for pricing analysts. Mostly online with in-person days, fully funded, and Pathfinders are paid a salary throughout. The Academy page has the week-by-week outline.
